The Many Voices of Meryl Streep

With her nod for August: Osage County, Meryl Streep now boasts a record 18 Academy Award nominations, and they haven’t come easy. The much-gilded actress has taken on every linguistic flavor from the Bronx to Australia, eerily evoking the spirits of Margaret Thatcher and Julia Child along the way. Even her merciless Oklahoman drawl in August, which exhausted many critics, was still enough to earn her a place on Oscar night this year. The video tribute above bows before her many accents, just as they demand.
