Jimi Hendrix’s Final Interview, Animated

A week before he died of a drug overdose, in September 1970, Jimi Hendrix gave his final interview, with journalist Keith Altham. Excerpts of that exchange are highlighted in the latest edition of PBS’s fun series, “Blank On Blank.”

Hendrix describes the impetus behind burning his guitar on stage, his view of politics, and the social lives of outsiders. “You have to be a freak in order to be different,” he declares.
