Finally, you can see these girls without HBO GO.

Perhpas you were busy watching the Golden Globes last night. Or maybe you don’t have HBO/access to someone’s password for HBO GO, the network’s streaming service. But if you missed the premiere of Girls Season 3 (in which, per Willa Paskin, the characters are less likable and more funny than ever), HBO has made the first two episodes available to watch on YouTube, 12 hours after they originally aired.

Mashable reports that this is a part of the premium cable network’s increasingly aggressive approach to marketing the show on social media; they have also created an Instagram video series featuring Lena Dunham and will provide sneak peeks of new episodes via Snapchat. It’s unclear for how long the show will be available on YouTube, or if the rest of the season will be given the same treatment. (I’ve reached out to HBO and will update this post if I receive a response.)

Update, 2:40 PM: An HBO representative has informed me that the premiere episodes will be available on YouTube and HBO.com “for four weeks as part of a sampling promotion. The rest of the season will only be available for streaming on HBO GO.”

In the meantime, enjoy the latest misadventures of Hannah Horvath and her ilk.
