It took some time, but the rumor that Outkast will reunite at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has finally been confirmed. Rumblings that Big Boi and Andre 3000 would team up for the first time since 2007 began back in November, when Diddy's music channel Revolt TV reported the news—without naming any sources. Needless to say, we were a bit skeptical. Photographic evidence that the two were at the very least hanging out together appeared a few weeks later, but it still wasn't enough to go by.
Now with the announcement of the Coachella lineup, which also includes the Replacements, Pharrell Williams, Lana Del Rey, Arcade Fire, and many more, we can happily put our hesitancy to rest. It's still uncertain whether or not this is a one-off performance or if, as Revolt initially reported last year, Outkast will be going on a full tour. And for an even bigger unanswered question, will the duo head back into the studio for some new music?
Let's hope so—the fact that they're performing together at all this year is a very good sign.
