Blue Ivy, Burgeoning Fashion Icon

Beyoncé’s surprise new album, unleashed on the world today, features an impressive list of select guest appearances—husband Jay Z, Drake, and Frank Ocean are all featured—but the most stylish star turn comes from her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

Blue features on album closer “Blue,” delivering a what we can only imagine is her response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse. (“Hold on to me/ Hold on,” she spits. “Mommy, mommy, mommy.”) But she shows off her real talent in the accompanying video: her style.

Just look, for example, at the way she can work with color, complementing this summery ensemble with a tasteful necklace.

Or she can go simple. See, for example, this classic look in all-white, with the subtle embellishment of the flower in her hair.

It even goes with her diaper.

Blue has shown off her fashion sense before. She can go sporty.

Or fierce, like her mom.

She may have been shy in her early year.

But now she’s ready to step out in a pair of floral-pattern Doc Martens and a custom leather-studded jacket.

Look no further for what babies will be wearing down that runway next.
