Watch the Pilot for Dan Harmon’s New Animated Series

At Comic-Con back in July, Community showrunner Dan Harmon previewed a new animated sci-fi series for Adult Swim alongside co-creator Justin Roiland. Loosely influenced by Back to the Future, Rick and Morty follows the grandfather-grandson duo of mad, alcoholic scientist Rick and awkward teenager Morty (both voiced by Roiland himself).

The initial Comic-Con preview—which was rushed, according to Roiland—was a little underwhelming, with the scenes presented out of context, but they work better here. You can watch the full first episode above (via Splitsider), one week before the show's premiere on Dec. 2.
