You may feel better about the rumors knowing that frequent collaborator Sleepy Brown (who appeared on “The Way You Move” and other Outkast tracks) posted a photo on his Instagram account announcing the duo as the headlining act for Coachella 2014. But then, that photo page doesn’t seem to exist anymore, and the annual festival is notorious for attracting false headliner claims. (Don’t believe the faux posters: The Rolling Stones never appeared at Coachella, nor did R.E.M. or David Bowie.)
Billboard cites couple of unnamed sources in their report. One of whom says that there have been “conversations” about a reunion, while the other says it’s pretty much a “go.”
All of which is to say that none of these “confirmations” appear quite as “official” or “for real” as some outlets have suggested. Until more reliable sources come forward to confirm or deny the rumors, it’s probably best to remain cautiously optimistic.
