Anders Ramsell made 12,597 individual paintings for his 35-minute adaptation.

About 16 months ago we shared a 13-minute “teaser” for Anders Ramsell’s Blade Runner: Aquarelle Edition, an adaptation of the Ridley Scott classic (itself, of course, an adaptation of Philip K. Dick). The project up to that point consisted of 3,285 individual watercolors.

Ramsell ultimately made 12,597 for his 35-minute “paraphrase” of the sci-fi movie, which he uploaded to YouTube earlier this week. (You can see the individual paintings on his website.) The result is dreamy and gorgeous and an absolutely worthy tribute to the beloved film.
