Once upon a time, Spike Lee and Tyler Perry didn’t care much for one another. Or perhaps that’s putting it lightly; said Lee a few years ago of Perry’s cable shows House of Payne and Meet the Browns, “We got a black president, and we going back to Mantan Moreland and Sleep ‘n’ Eat?” Perry’s response: “Spike Lee can go straight to hell!”
But the two are cool now, and Lee has even visited Perry at his home, as he told Oprah Winfrey on an episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter. They’re so cool, in fact, that the once unfathomable may come to pass: “One day we might work together,” says Lee.
