See Just How Eerily Accurate the TLC Biopic Was

If you watched the highly-rated VH1 biopic about ’90s R&B super-trio TLC on Monday night, there’s a good chance you were overcome with bouts of giddy nostalgia (and déjà vu) any time one of the group’s instantly recognizable media moments popped up in the narrative. The endlessly quotable Behind the Music clips, the awards show acceptance speeches, the iconic music videos—they were all painstakingly recreated for CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, right down to the uncanny casting of T-Boz (Drew Sidora), Left Eye (rapper Lil’ Mama), and Chili (Keke Palmer).

Which may explain why there apparently wasn’t enough time to pump out a better, more complex script. But that’s OK: The best parts of the film are those recreations, and Vulture has put together a nicely edited video juxtaposing them with the real-life inspirations. The precision is impressive.
