Archer Heads Into the Danger Zone

Archer, call sign Maverick, in a new FX promo

FX

Those of us who love FX’s animated series Archer love it not only for its outrageous characters, or its gleefully offensive dialogue, or its delectably soapy plot twists, or its embrace of over-the-top emotion, or the hilarious voice performances of Jon Benjamin and Jessica Walter, or its sharp-edged animation style, or its disturbingly sexy chiseled superspy hero, or its disturbingly sexy voluptuous superspy heroine, or its tweaking of genre conventions, or its panoply of quotable insults, or the fact that it’s the only show we know of to spend an entire episode paying tribute to Justified. We also love it because Archer cannot stop referencing the Kenny Loggins song “Danger Zone.”

In this promo for Archer Season 5, premiering in January, FX rewards our love.
