Sesame Street is back for its 44th season, and to celebrate, Jimmy Fallon welcomed some of the iconic series’ most beloved characters onto the set of his late night show. Along with his house band, The Roots, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Grover and more sang a rousing rendition of the Sesame Street theme song, complete with children’s toy instruments.
Thus far, all of Fallon’s playful collaborations like this one—with Robin Thicke, Mariah Carey, and Carly Rae Jepsen—have been a delight. But perhaps because he’s often seemed like something of a human Muppet himself—in a good way!—this performance seems particularly apt. Enjoy.
