Mumford & Sons Spoof Themselves

Mumford & Sons have always been a band on the verge of self-parody, and now the group has gone all the way. For their new video for “Hopeless Wanderer,” the Englishmen recruited Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Will Forte, and Ed Helms. Together, the four comedians don their Dust Bowl chic for a mostly straight-faced emotional hoedown under the bare fluorescent light-bulbs.

Presumably the band intends to show that they have a good sense of humor about themselves, and they’ve succeeded. If the video didn’t require much exaggeration to get some laughs, that only makes it all the funnier.
