So it makes sense that frequent collaborator and former boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson, who’s directed a few of her videos in the past, decided to strip it down to the intensity of her performance, allowing all the song’s parts to slowly assemble in split screen.
The resulting video is a perfect match for the song, and it’s every bit as transfixing.
