Elvis Costello and The Roots, Together at Last

The collaboration between Elvis Costello and The Roots, Wise Up Ghost, always sounded promising—and all the more so after Questlove described the project thusly: “I went stark and dark on the music, Elvis went HAM on some ole Ezra Pound shit.” (The cover of the album appears to have been inspired by another poet: It looks exactly like the first edition of Howl and Other Poems.)

The first single from the album, “Walk Us Uptown,” was just released, and it’s encouraging, too. The whole thing comes out Sept. 17.
