Jerry Seinfeld Finally Talks to a Woman, Maybe Learns a Thing or Two

Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman

Crackle

In its first season, Jerry Seinfeld’s Web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, built from a few modest early episodes to some great final installments, most notably the finale with his old friend Michael Richards.

But he never talked to a woman. It was a series of very funny, very talented (and mostly white) guys. The unbroken string of men even prompted a send-up by Sandra Bernhard, Comedians Walking & Getting Mani-Pedis.

For the first episode of his second season, though, Seinfeld picked up Sarah Silverman in a fancy blue Jaguar and listened to her talk about Scientology, the Real Housewives phenomenon, and “hipster service.” And he told Silverman about an idea he had for Seinfeld that they never used: He wanted to make an episode in which various sitcom problems arose and then were quickly resolved, without any complications.

Give it a watch when you get a few minutes. And try not to be distracted by Seinfeld’s apparently nuclear-powered sneakers. They are bright.
