Here Is Charles Dickens as Morrissey

Horrible Histories is a kids’ show on the BBC based on a series of books. Each episode features a song, and these songs, composed by Richie Webb, are sometimes, according to the show’s creators, “massively self-indulgent.”

Perhaps that description is apt for this recent one, which uses a knock-off of “This Charming Man” (with a bit of  “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now,” and maybe one or two other Smiths tunes besides) to teach children—precocious ones presumably—about the life of Charles Dickens. But it really does contain quite a bit of information! And Dickens makes for an excellent Morrissey. Enjoy.
