The Internet’s affinity for trailers is so strong that many diehard fans feel compelled to remake the trailers themselves, using whatever material is available—whether it’s Lego blocks or construction paper.
Now we can add one more medium to the list of those used for these DIY trailer remakes: The world of Minecraft. Minecraft (not to be confused with Minesweeper) is a “sandbox” video game, meaning that gamers can go wherever they want in an endless world, and even modify the world itself. In this case, they do it by building things out of virtual building blocks. For this video, uploaded yesterday, media studio Steelehouse recreated the recent full trailer for Man of Steel in incredible, block-y detail, from the lens flares and Malick-like waving grasses to the cocked eyebrow on the Last Son of Krypton’s face.

The best of these trailer remakes balance obvious crudeness with amazing attention to detail, and Mine of Steel manages both. Man of Steel will be released June 14. As for Mine of Steel, well, we can only hope.
