Brow Beat

A Lost Interview With James Brown, Animated

We’ve featured the excellent work of Blank on Blank here on Brow Beat before: The PBS web series takes old, sometimes lost, sometimes forgotten interviews and animates them. In the latest installment, James Brown opines on Ronald Reagan, soul music, and the meaning of blackness with Rocci Fisch, who sets up the conversation a bit at the beginning of the video.

The interview is from 1984, and Brown is, as he nearly always was, eminently quotable. The animator, as in previous episodes, is Patrick Smith. Enjoy.
