Ever wondered why critics were so surprised by Gary Oldman’s subdued performance in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy? Then this is the video for you.

In honor of the English actor’s 55^th birthday today, Flavorwire assembled this supercut of Oldman turning the crazy up to 11. As the title suggests, it was probably inspired by the four-minute masterpiece “Nicolas Cage Losing His Shit.” It’s hard to compete with the master—Cage is, of course, the undisputed champion of overacting—but there are times when Oldman gives even Cage a run for his money.
