Small Businesses Keep the Pun Alive

Today in Slate, Simon Akam laments the decline of the American pun (or as I prefer to think of it, the closing of the American front ear). But HyperVocal reminds us that small businesses have been keeping the pun alive—from Lawn Order, with its Special Sprinkler Unit (“Where we lay down the lawn”), to Lino Ritchie flooring, to the frame store telling you to “Shoot the Kids Hang the Family Frame the Wife,” punning is alive and well on Main Street, U.S.A.

HyperVocal doesn’t even mention the many, many salons that go by the name Curl Up & Dye. What other wordplay-loving small businesses did they miss?
