Last March, producers of the film Dirty White Boy, which will chronicle the relationship between a young VH1 employee and the late hip-hop star Ol’ Dirty Bastard, announced that they had cast Michael K. Williams to portray the beloved one-time member of the Wu Tang Clan. A month ago, Williams, best known for playing Omar Little on The Wire, channeled Dirty, born Russell Jones, at a Sandy Relief concert in Brooklyn, where both Williams and Jones were born. Yesterday, a YouTube user named Michael Williams uploaded video of his performance of ODB’s “Brooklyn Zoo.”
So here, more or less, is your first glimpse of what Williams as Jones might be like. According to IMDb, Dirty White Boy is still in pre-production. Let’s hope they start filming soon.
