The last time we checked in on Baz Luhrman’s Leonardo DiCaprio-starring adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, it was set for a Christmas release and people were still arguing about its supposedly groundbreaking use of 3-D. Since then the movie got moved to May 2013 and a rumor has gone around that Prince, who recently put out a new song with no album in sight, might have a new song on the soundtrack.
And then last night we saw this trailer, which, even absent Jack White’s excellent rendition of “Love Is Blindness” (and with a fairly unpleasant version of “So Happy Together” in its place), might be even more exciting than the first one. Our hopes for this movie remain entirely undimmed.
