While she may be best known as one-half of beloved pop duo Everything But the Girl, Tracey Thorn has been making solo recordings for 30 years. And her fourth solo album has a Christmas theme: Tinsel and Lights emphasizes the heightened feelings, both good and bad, of the holiday season—which, she says, make it a great source of creativity. "Anything that's got the potential for stress and tension and conflict—I think that's quite inspiring."
Perhaps no song on the album captures that idea as well as "Joy," in which she sings, "Because of the dark, we see the beauty in the spark." We're very happy to premiere the video for the song below. Enjoy.
