The IMDb Top 250 in 2 and 1/2 Minutes

The Shawshank Redemption is currently no. 1 on the IMDb top 250

The IMDb top 250 is a fun list to keep track of. Determined by the rankings of IMDb users (a movie must not only score highly but have many total rankings to make the list), it is a mix of the fairly recent and super-popular (The Dark Knight is no. 8) and the truly enduring (Chaplin, Keaton, and Fritz Lang all make the list, too—which is not to say that The Dark Knight will not endure, necessarily… but only time will tell).*

The supercut below, by Jonathan Keogh, is, then, appropriately crowd-pleasing. Keogh fudged the list a little, including other high-ranking movies that were not on the list when he made it, but which had comparably high scores and vote totals. So he actually gets through 303 movies in two and a half minutes, with some very, very quick (and clever) cutting. And he scores it all to Joan Jett, The Beatles, House of Pain, and Cypress Hill, mashed together by DJ Faroff. Enjoy.
