Before TV shows became season-long musicals, the musical episode was something to cherish. Joss Whedon’s cult (and academic) favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer went off the air almost 10 years ago, but fans still fondly recall the Season 6 episode “Once More With Feeling,” in which a demon visits and causes everyone to burst into song. The episode not only managed to fit into the story arc of Buffy’s return from the dead, it also featured original songs sung surprisingly well by the cast.
It may have aired almost a decade ago, but it’s still fresh in the minds of many fans—a few years ago movie theaters tried to cash in on the fun with sing along showings. Add English singer Kate Nash to the fan-club. As a Halloween surprise, complete with a slayer-ready costume, she performed the entirety of the episode live with a little help from her friends.
