“White Dress,” Kanye West’s new song off the upcoming soundtrack to RZA’s The Man WithThe Iron Fist has been released in full—and the ode to his current flame, Kim Kardashian, is a satisfying throwback to his early records. The bare production feels like a soul-sampling, unreleased track from West’s sophomore effort, Late Registration. While the last few years have seen the rapper experimenting with more lush and complex sounds, it’s nice to see him take a more minimalist approach every now and then.

The lyrics, meanwhile, are typical, self-conscious West—“They never let us do our thing / Everybody lying on who I bang / We was on fire / But they blew our flame.”
