As CBS’ Jim Nantz tells us every spring, the Masters is “a tradition unlike any other.” Among the traditions that mark the first major on the golf calendar: non-stop promos that feature the time-honored Masters theme and shots of Augusta National Golf Club’s azaleas, grass, and turtles.
It’s time for CBS and the Masters to liven up their approach. Our new spot adds an ingredient that’s always been missing from golf commercials: a Jay-Z verse. The perfect track to accompany all that green grass and those green jackets? “Success,” from the soundtrack to American Gangster. (Note: Lyrics are NSFW.)
