The Muppets Hit Back at Fox News

Last month, we flagged a segment on the Fox Business Channel that questioned the political agenda of the latest Muppets movie. (The unintentionally funny attack on the far-left leanings of the felt-covered fictional characters prompted one of our favorite Twitter hashtags, #GOPMuppetHearings.)

Kermit and Miss Piggy were in England last week promoting the U.K. release of The Muppets, and were asked about the kerfuffle by a British reporter, prompting the delightful exchange below. “If we have a problem with oil companies,” Kermit asks, “why would we have spent the entire film driving around a gas-guzzling Rolls Royce?” Then Miss Piggy jumps in: “It’s almost as laughable as accusing Fox News as, you know, being news.”

“Boy, that’s gonna be all over the Internet,” Kermit says, after the applause dies down. (He’s right, obviously.) To which Miss Piggy smartly replies: “If they take what I say seriously, they got a real big problem.” (Via ThinkProgress.)
