A Video Obituary for Nate Dogg

From hip-hop commentator Jay Smooth, a thoughtful appreciation for Nate Dogg, the hook man par excellence who died last week at the age of 41. Smooth calls Nate Dogg the Mariano Rivera of hip-hop: He had a very specific talent, but he was the best at what he did and he was at the top of his game year after year. Smooth also takes care to note the dark side of Nate Dogg’s ability, i.e. his knack for getting you to sing along blithely as he makes wildly offensive comments about women. Take a look:
