Slate readers: You may have seen an AP report on a contest we're hosting between Cook's Illustrated and food52. The rumors are true. Both Cook's and food52 have created (using their very different methodologies) original recipes for pork shoulder and for sugar cookies. Details will go live on Wednesday, May 5, but suffice it to say we're asking Slate readers to prepare the recipes and vote on their favorites. Be sure to check Slate on Wednesday if you'd like to participate and help determine whether rigorous Cook's -style test kitchens or enthusiastic food52-style crowds create better recipes.
