Kausfiles has been moved to Slate's new blogging software, because ... well, I'm sure there is a highly persuasive rationale. ... "Functionality!" That's it. And to be honest our old blogging software, a Microsoft legacy modestly named "Gutenberg," was getting awfully rickety. We're still working on the appearance and operation of the new format. Slate's Vivian Selbo, who designed the original 1999 kausfiles.com site, is making it all look good. But inevitably the transition involves attempting to fit traditional time-tested kf elements into the Procrustean bed ... I mean, versatile, cost-efficient template of third-party blogging software. Feedback appreciated.
