Sen: Finding Pluto

It took New Horizons more than nine years to get from Earth to Pluto … but our own journey of discovering this sentry on the border of the planets took much longer. I’d say it started with the accidental discovery of Uranus in 1781, and took a fair number of twists and turns on the way.

It’s a good story, which is why I wrote it up for my twice-monthly column on Sen.com. That’s subscription only, and for the price of only 0.0000007 percent of New Horizons per month you get access to lots of great articles and information, including the stuff I write there. It’s totally worth it.
