Good Night, Boulder

Oh, and because I can: As I was driving back to Boulder, Colo., from the airport after getting home from Comic-Con in July, the sunset decided to try on every hue of orange there is:

Sunset behind Longs Peak

I have to give this one an even higher rating than the sunset when I came home from SpaceFest V in May.

The only thing marring this photo is that I could tell there was no snow on Longs Peak, the mountain in this picture. The top is at an elevation of more than 4,300 meters (14,200 feet), and at that height there’s usually snow year around. Last year also had a markedly low amount of snow on all the big Colorado Rockies I can see from home. But I’m sure there’s nothing to it.
