Via PZ comes the news that Canada is quietly funding religious schools that teach creationism.
This is particularly bad in Alberta, it turns out. Amazingly (see if you can find a US paper that does this), the Calgary Herald has an excellent editorial lambasting creationism for the garbage it is.
As it happens, I am in Alberta right now, and as it also happens I will be speaking to hundreds of high school students. I believe am quite sure I will find myself, at some point, at what is called a teachable moment. If it doesn’t happen naturally, I may have to induce it.
