Nicholas G. Evans is an assistant professor in philosophy at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he researches biosecurity and biosafety policies around the world. In 2014, he was part of a group of scholars who advocated for changes to U.S. biosafety policies surrounding gain-of-function research that might result in novel influenza viruses with enhanced virulence and transmissibility.
