These Elderly Goats Go on Walks, Just Like Dogs

It’s for exercise.

We know dogs have to go for daily walks, but as you can see in this video, goats do too. Elderly goats, that is.

The elderly African pygmy goats at the Oregon Zoo stay active by taking morning power walks, led by volunteer goat walkers (dream job alert!). This herd has an average age of 12. They walk to keep their joints healthy. In the video, we see the leash-clad goats amble through the zoo. They may be seniors, but they are still very energetic. Things really get exciting when they get to stroll confidently through the empty areas that their predators normally occupy.

These goats remind us that age is just a number.
