Noreen Williamson had a beautiful love story.
In this touching short documentary by Brandon Roots of Lefty, When Day Is Done, the widowed Williamson tells the story of her life with her husband Dean—interspersed with footage from their home movies. When they went on their first date, Dean had been drinking with his friends, but he walked her home and apologized, and luckily, she gave him a second chance. Soon after, Dean wrote to Noreen asking her to marry him. “I knew I loved him before he lived. And he loved me,” she says. They had a happy marriage, and she nursed him through his dementia until he eventually died.
The video ends on a poignant note with Noreen singing an old song that describes how she feels about missing Dean, called “When Day Is Done.”
