The video above features the work of one Kaplamino, a guy who, clearly, loves to work out domino problems. He’s working here with marbles, because, among other things, he lives in student housing and there’s not enough room for anything bigger. The result is a contraption that would make Rube Goldberg proud.
He got the idea for the project a while back, though he didn’t plan it out in advance, so it was an extended exercise in problem solving and improvisation. His solutions, though, are ingenious, complex, and often whimsical.
Between the way it’s shot, the action, and the shifting lighting from passing clouds outside his dormitory window, it’s an incredibly fun video all around.
