Good Boy

An anatomically correct replica dog could change how vets learn their craft.

Since 2004, Florida-based SynDaver Labs has been developing incredibly realistic synthetic materials to replace cadavers in medical education. Its amazingly detailed models have been used to teach a wide variety of medical procedures. The company has also been creating model dogs, with every internal structure and anatomical component of the real thing, and they can even mimic bodily functions. The technology may allow veterinary students to practice procures like trauma training, spays, and even brain surgery—without harming live animals.

The company recently launched an Indiegogo campaign to provide every accredited veterinary college in the world with 20 synthetic canines. Watch more in the video above.
