Ron Johnson is a businessman—a plastics manufacturer, to be specific—running for Senate to bring an “outsider’s perspective” to Capitol Hill. At least according to his new campaign ad, that is.
Here’s the thing: Johnson is already a sitting senator, sent to Congress by Wisconsin voters in 2010. Apparently, he’s hoping that Badger State voters have short-term memories.
In a way, you can hardly blame Sen. Johnson for whitewashing his political record. The former businessman won his first race by campaigning as an outsider, eventually riding the Tea Party wave to victory. And now that he’s a part of a historically gridlocked and ineffective Congress, he’s hoping to use the same playbook. Watch the video above for more.
