The Smallest Penguin Chick in the World Up Close

Little Bowie can barely see yet.

Born just under a week ago at the Cincinnati Zoo, the palm-sized Bowie is a little penguin—the smallest of all penguin species—and it is adorable. (Yes, it was named after David, but only because they share a birthday—and before his death this week.) So watch the video, and bask in cuteness that will surely overwhelm you, as the little guy is handfed by his handler.

Native to Australia and New Zealand, the chick will join the largest colony of little penguins in North America at the zoo when it’s older.
