Working with the International Potato Center, scientists are looking to cultivate potatoes on Earth by replicating Mars-like conditions. Using soil from Peru that’s nearly identical to soil on the red planet, the team will simulate Martian atmospheric conditions.
This inevitably leads to the bigger question: what about Mars fries? Mars’ lower surface gravity might make things tricky, but hopefully possible, for the planet’s first MarsDonald’s.
