Much the way it did last holiday season, British retailer John Lewis just released what may well be the most weepy Christmas TV ad of the year. It features an adorable young girl reaching out in the holiday spirit to a solitary figure she sees through her telescope. Really, it’s lovely. Have some tissue handy, etc.
Of course, Web denizens being who they are, parodies immediately popped up, including the hilarious video below by comedy site The Poke. Remember Stephen Hawkings’ admonition about being too quick to reach out to alien life? Um …
One of the companies has apparently been striking down the video, but The Poke provided us with a copy of it, given that it is quite clearly a parody.
