Gene and the Can of Vegetables Return

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp finally premieres Friday on Netflix, but we couldn’t wait any longer to see Camp Firewood’s best terrible counselors all grown up, playing themselves and aged down. Luckily, Slate got its hands on some exclusive footage from the new show—starring Gene, the eccentric cook played by Christopher Meloni, and the wise can of vegetables, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin. Evidently, Gene wasn’t quite ready to reach his fridge-humping epiphany quite yet when camp got started.
