Gordon Willis’ Enduring Mark on Hollywood

The legendary cinematographer of The Godfather and Manhattan has died. 

Legendary cinematographer Gordon Willis has died at 82. Called “the prince of darkness" by Francis Ford Coppola for his use of shadows and underexposure, Willis helped define the visual language of American films through his work with many notable directors through the ’70s and ’80s.
