The famous Texas gentleman killer is free—and that’s not even the strange part.

Bernie Tiede, the killer made famous by Jack Black in Richard Linklater’s 2011 movie Bernie, was released from prison Tuesday, with prosecutors agreeing to set aside his life sentence. And that’s not even the weird part.
