The French Wine Drain

The U.S. now consumes more wine than France.

According to the charmingly named International Organization of Vine and Wine, or OIV, Americans now consume about 769 million gallons of wine a year, compared to the French’s 742 million gallons. Per capita, of course, is a different story.
