New estimate projects the cost to be around $100 billion.​

Next stop, Mars? Well, not quite, but a new estimate puts the price tag for a potential manned mission to Mars at a much easier-to-stomach $80 billion to $100 billion. That's a far cry from the oft-repeated–and absurd–cost of $1 trillion.
