Cranial fossils of Nanuqsaurus hoglundi were collected from the Kikak-Tegoseak Quarry in northern Alaska in 2006, but now a new paper identifies the dinosaur as a member of the tyrannosaur lineage. Its name comes from the Inupiat word for polar bear.
